A great curb appeal increases the value of your home.
A house should have curb appeal, but what exactly does that mean?
What it means is that, if a buyer drives past a house at 5 or 10 m.p.h., the front of the place should be alluring enough for that buyer to stop the car. If the seller has done the job properly (with their agent’s help), the buyer should then get out of the car and write down the real estate agent’s name and number to request to see inside of the home.
Casual greenery complements the entrance.
Curb Appeal Check List:
You can stand across the street or far enough down the driveway from your house to get a good view of the house and its surroundings.
Get your first impression of the house and the front yard.
Enhance the best exterior features of the house.
Minimize the worst exterior features of the house or improve them.
Have a Grand Garden Entryway
Stow away unnecessary garden implements and tools.
Clean windows and gutters.
Pressure wash dirty siding and decks.
Edge sidewalks and remove vegetation growing between concrete or bricks.
Manicure the lawn. Get rid of weeds.
Rake and dispose of leaves, even if your lot is wooded.
Trim tree limbs that are near or touching the home’s roof.
Make a list of the problem areas you discovered then put time into projects that make the grounds more attractive.
Evening Curb Appeal
Do your curb appeal exercise again at dusk, because it isn’t unusual for potential buyers to drive by houses in the evening. One quick way to improve evening curb appeal is with lighting:
String low voltage lighting along the driveway, sidewalks, and near all landscaping elements.
Add a decorative and an attractive light fixture to a front entry.
Make sure lighting that’s visible through front doors and windows enhances the home’s appearance.
